For Photographers

What is the Underwater Portrait Photography Workshop?

Our flagship Underwater Portrait Photography Workshop is an immersive, multi-day, in-person training experience held in Gainesville, Florida, specifically designed for photographers who want to master the technical and artistic challenges of creating professional underwater portraits. The curriculum is comprehensive, covering critical topics such as in-water safety protocols, underwater lighting techniques, directing and posing subjects beneath the surface, business pricing strategies for luxury underwater sessions, and a complete post-processing workflow for underwater imagery. What truly sets this workshop apart is the hands-on component: participants shoot live sessions with professional models in both our heated studio pool and at nearby Florida springs, giving you real-world practice under expert guidance.

Class sizes are intentionally kept small, typically under ten participants, so every photographer receives personalized feedback, one-on-one mentoring time with Kimber, and the opportunity to build a portfolio of finished images during the workshop itself. Workshop participants also gain ongoing access to our private alumni community, where graduates continue to share work, ask questions, and find collaboration opportunities long after the workshop ends. Hair and makeup, professional wardrobe, safety crew, and shooting locations are all included in the workshop tuition, so you arrive with just your camera and leave with finished editorial-quality images.

We also provide a take-home resource bundle including contracts, model release templates, pricing worksheets, and our proprietary editing presets. Past attendees have come from across the United States, Europe, Australia, and South America, and many credit the workshop as the single biggest accelerator of their underwater photography careers. Spaces fill quickly each year, so early registration is recommended.
