For Models
What is the Underwater Photography Modeling Workshop?
Our Underwater Photography Modeling Workshop is an intensive two-day training program held at our Gainesville studio and surrounding spring locations, designed specifically for aspiring and working underwater models who want to elevate their skills and marketability. Over the course of the workshop, you will receive hands-on instruction in breath control techniques, the fundamentals of underwater posing, wardrobe selection for aquatic environments, how to work collaboratively with photographers, and on-camera direction that helps you deliver consistent, professional results. The workshop includes multiple live shoot sessions with professional underwater photographers, giving you real-world experience and immediate feedback on your performance.
By the end of the weekend, graduates leave not only with a portfolio of stunning, high-quality underwater images but also with the practical skills and confidence needed to book paid underwater modeling work in a competitive industry. The curriculum also covers business essentials for working models, including how to negotiate rates, read and sign model releases, build a professional portfolio website, and pitch yourself to photographers and brands. Class sizes are deliberately small so every model receives personalized coaching, video feedback, and one-on-one time with Kimber and the guest instructors.
We supply all wardrobe, hair and makeup, and shooting locations, so you arrive with nothing but a swimsuit, your enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn. Many alumni go on to join our recommended model roster, which we share with photographers around the country looking to book experienced underwater talent. Workshop graduates also receive ongoing access to a private community where they can network, swap opportunities, and continue learning long after the weekend ends.
