For Models

What if I panic underwater during the shoot?

Feeling a mild sense of anxiety or nervousness before or during your first underwater shoot is completely normal, and we want you to know that our entire team is trained to recognize the early signs of stress and respond with calm, supportive reassurance. A dedicated safety swimmer is positioned within arm's reach of you at every moment you are in the water, ready to assist immediately if you signal for help or simply want to surface. We have a firm, non-negotiable rule on every set: anyone can call any shoot to a complete stop at any time for any reason, and there will be absolutely no judgment, no questions asked, and no pressure to continue before you are ready.

Before you ever go beneath the surface, we conduct a thorough safety briefing, practice breathing techniques, and demonstrate hand signals so you have clear, simple ways to communicate your needs. Your physical and emotional safety always takes precedence over getting the shot. If you ever feel a wave of panic rising, the first step is to exhale slowly through your nose, plant your feet on the bottom if you can, and look up toward the surface light to reorient yourself.

Our team teaches a simple grounding exercise — naming three things you can see, two things you can feel, and one thing you can hear — that calms the nervous system within seconds. Many models find that completing one or two successful short dives before their first long set dramatically reduces anxiety for the rest of the day. Trust is the cornerstone of underwater modeling, and we earn yours through transparent communication, gentle pacing, and an unwavering commitment to your wellbeing.
