For Models
Is underwater modeling cold?
The temperature of your underwater modeling experience depends entirely on the location where we are shooting, but we take every possible measure to keep you comfortable. Our indoor studio pool is professionally heated to a comfortable swimming temperature that most models find pleasant and relaxing, even during extended sessions. Florida's natural freshwater springs maintain a constant temperature of approximately 72 degrees Fahrenheit or 22 degrees Celsius year-round, which feels refreshing on a hot day but can become chilly during longer shoots.
For spring sessions, we work in short, efficient sets and provide warm, dry robes for you to wrap up in between dives. If you are particularly sensitive to cold, we can also arrange for you to wear a thin neoprene top under your wardrobe on extended spring shoots, which provides warmth without being visible in the final images. We always monitor your comfort and will adjust the shooting schedule or move to the heated pool if needed.
Warm beverages such as herbal tea, hot chocolate, and warm broths are always available between sets to help raise your core temperature. Hand warmers, thermal blankets, and a portable heater on the deck are part of our standard cold-water shoot kit. Eating a meal rich in healthy fats and complex carbohydrates a couple of hours before a spring shoot also helps your body generate sustained warmth. If at any point you feel cold beyond comfort, simply signal the team and we will pause immediately — no shot is worth pushing past your limits.
