For Clients

Is the water cold during an underwater photoshoot?

Our private studio pool is heated to a comfortable bath-like temperature, generally between 88 and 92 degrees Fahrenheit, so you can stay relaxed and focused on the art rather than fighting a chill. For natural-water sessions in Florida springs, the temperature stays a constant 72 degrees year-round, which feels cool at first contact but becomes pleasant within a few minutes of gentle movement.

We provide neoprene shorty wetsuits, warm robes, and hot herbal tea between takes when shooting in springs, especially during cooler months. Staying warm directly impacts how relaxed your facial expressions look on camera, so we treat thermal comfort as an essential creative tool, not an afterthought. If you tend to chill easily or have conditions like Raynaud's syndrome, please tell us during your consultation so we can plan extra warming breaks.

Heated changing areas, warm towels straight from a dryer, and a private indoor restroom are standard on every session day. Many clients are surprised to discover that the studio environment feels closer to a spa than a swimming pool. Comfort is never optional at Water Bear Photography — it is the precondition for the kind of imagery we are known for.
