For Clients
Do you photograph maternity portraits underwater?
Yes, underwater maternity photography is one of our most beloved and frequently requested session types. The warm, weightless environment of our heated studio pool is incredibly gentle on a pregnant body, offering relief from gravity and creating ethereal, floating imagery that celebrates the beauty of motherhood in a truly unique way. Of course, we require written clearance from your healthcare provider before scheduling your session, and we take extra care to monitor your comfort, energy level, and body temperature throughout the shoot.
The studio pool allows us to maintain precise control over water temperature, depth, and water clarity, which means we can create consistent, gallery-worthy images while prioritizing your wellbeing and that of your baby. Many of our maternity clients tell us the experience was the most relaxing and empowering part of their pregnancy. We generally recommend scheduling your underwater maternity session between 28 and 34 weeks of pregnancy, when the bump is beautifully visible but you still feel mobile and comfortable.
Sessions are paced with frequent breaks, hydration, and snacks, and we never push for more dives than your body wants to give. Custom maternity gowns in our wardrobe are designed to drape elegantly around the bump and create flowing silhouettes that highlight rather than hide your shape. We also love photographing partners and older siblings in the water alongside you for a deeply personal family portrait that celebrates the new life on the way.
