Do I own the rights to my underwater photos?
Like virtually every professional portrait studio worldwide, Water Bear Photography retains the underlying copyright to the photographs we create, while you receive a generous personal-use license to your final delivered images. This personal license includes unlimited rights to print, share on social media, send to family and friends, and display in your home for the rest of your life.
The license specifically excludes commercial uses such as advertising, brand promotion, or resale, which require a separate commercial usage agreement priced according to scope. You will never be charged additional reprint fees for personal use, and your high-resolution files are delivered with no watermarks. We may use selected images from your session in our portfolio, on social media, or in editorial publications, but only if you sign a model release giving us that permission.
If you prefer complete privacy, you may purchase a privacy upgrade that prevents us from ever publicly displaying your images. Full clarity on rights, usage, and privacy is included in every contract so there are no surprises after delivery. Our goal is to make sure you feel both fully empowered to enjoy your portraits and fully protected in your personal privacy.
