For Clients

Are underwater photos real or are they edited to look that way?

Every single image we deliver is genuinely captured underwater, in real time, with the subject actually submerged — nothing about the core photograph is faked, composited from land shots, or generated artificially. What we do apply is the same professional post-production craftsmanship that every high-end portrait photographer uses, including color correction, white balance adjustment, skin retouching, and the careful removal of stray bubbles or particles.

Water naturally absorbs warm tones and shifts color casts toward blue or green, so correcting white balance is essential for skin to look natural rather than sickly. We also stitch together the best expressions and fabric movements from a sequence of frames when needed, a technique borrowed from high-fashion editorial work. Our editing philosophy is to enhance reality rather than to replace it, meaning your final portrait still authentically reflects the moment you experienced underwater.

Clients are always welcome to receive a small sample of unedited RAW comparison frames so they can see exactly how subtle the editing actually is. We never use AI image generation, face swaps, or fully synthetic backgrounds in any client work because authenticity is the entire foundation of fine-art portraiture. The finished image is, in every meaningful sense, a true and honest photograph of you underwater.
