Skip The Guesswork. Learn From A Working Creative Pro.
Creative work punishes trial and error: gear, studio time, models, travel and courses all cost money long before a single image earns anything. Private mentoring compresses years of expensive experimenting into focused sessions where every answer is specific to your medium, your equipment, your market and your creative direction — whether you shoot portraits, weddings, commercial work, video, model, design, or specialise underwater. You work directly with Kimber Greenwood, internationally published underwater portrait photographer and founder of the Underwater Creatives Academy.
Three Ways To Be Mentored
Choose the format that fits your schedule, your budget and how you learn best.
Virtual Mentoring
Live video sessions for portfolio reviews, business strategy, editing walk-throughs, and posing breakdowns — from anywhere in the world.
In-Studio Mentoring
Hands-on time at Water Bear Studios in Newberry, FL. Work through lighting, gear, posing, and an actual underwater shoot together.
On-Location Coaching
Join Kimber at a Florida Spring or open-water location for in-the-field mentoring on real shoot conditions, safety, and direction.
What We Can Work On Together
Your Curriculum, Built Around Your Gaps
Technique & Gear
Camera settings, lens and gear choices, exposure and focus strategies for your medium, and a repeatable technical baseline so results stop depending on luck. Specialist setups — including underwater housings — are covered when that is your niche.
Lighting & Mood
Reading and shaping available light, working with strobes, continuous light or natural light, and building the mood that makes your work recognisably yours across every project.
Posing & Directing
Signature posing, body and hand placement, movement, eye direction, and how to keep a nervous subject relaxed and confident so the session produces real emotion, not stiff pictures.
Creative Direction & Concepts
Turning a loose idea into a produced shoot: mood boards, wardrobe and styling, locations and sets, collaborators, shot lists and a plan that survives contact with the real world.
Editing & Post-Production
Colour, retouching, culling and a workflow you can actually maintain — plus building one consistent signature edit that clients recognise before they read your name.
Portfolio & Style
Honest portfolio critique, deciding what to remove, sequencing a gallery, and defining a creative style that separates you from everyone else in your market.

Who Private Mentoring Is Built For
For Photographers & Videographers
Move from lucky shots to repeatable results. Get technique, lighting and direction dialled in so every session produces work you are proud to publish — underwater or on dry land.
For Models & Performers
Build confidence in front of the camera, learn posing that reads beautifully on camera, understand how to work with a creative team, and shape a portfolio that gets you booked.
For Creatives & Career Changers
Designers, artists, makers and creatives moving into a new discipline get a structured path forward — without wasting money on the wrong gear, courses or detours.

Private Mentoring FAQs
How long is a private mentoring session?
Virtual sessions are typically 60 minutes. In-studio and on-location coaching runs as a half or full day so there is time to create, review and try again in the same visit.
Do I need professional gear to start?
Not for virtual mentoring. For in-studio or on-location coaching we discuss gear in advance — bringing your own setup is ideal, because you learn on the equipment you will actually use.
Is this only for photographers?
No. Private Mentoring is open to creatives of every discipline — photography, video, modeling, design, art and creative services. Sessions are shaped around your medium and your goals.
Can we work on my editing instead of shooting?
Absolutely. Editing, colour and post-production workflow are among the most requested mentoring topics, and screen-share sessions work extremely well for them.
What does private mentoring cost?
Private mentoring is quoted per plan, because a single portfolio review and a full on-location day are very different scopes. Send a request and you will receive a written proposal with pricing before anything is booked.
